Dewar’s 27 Year Old is inspired by a process pioneered by Dewar’s in 1901. Our Double Double Series has been aged, blended together, aged again, then finished in sherry casks for the Ultimate Smoothness. Dewar’s DD 26 Year Old is finished in Palo Cortado sherry casks; this blend delivers heady, aromatic, floral notes with honeyed fruits and subtle spice and the characteristic silky smooth finish.
DEWAR’S Double Agent Blended Scotch Whisky, Dewar’s 27 Year Old Special Edition Double Age Blended Scotch Whisky is one of the newest products for Dewar’s. After double aging, the signature process of Dewar’s, the whisky is separated into two batches: the first is finished in sweet Oloroso sherry casks, and the second in peaty Islay whisky casks. The liquids are then blended together again.

Dewar’s 27 Year Old, created by DEWAR’S master blender Stephanie Macleod, has been matured in sherry and bourbon casks and, once blended, put back into specially selected oak casks to marry for greater smoothness and a longer, lingering finish. The blend features tasting notes of honey, golden toffee, warm and complex, along with rich succulent exotic fruits with hints of coconut and vanilla aromas including citrus and green apple notes and lest we forget the delicate and exquisitely scented floral aromas with a smooth, well-round and long and warming finish.
Called “The Monarch”, Dewar’s 27 Year Old was named after the famous 1851 painting “The Monarch of the Glen” by Sir Edwin Landseer, which was purchased in 1916 by John Dewar’s and Sons.
