The aromatic finesse and freshness of an iconic Brut champagne
The producer
Moet Champagne (the House of Moet & Chandon) was founded in 1743 by Claude Moët, a visionary wine merchant, who quickly made Moet Chandon a reference in the highest courts of Europe. A few years later his grandson, Jean-Rémy Moët, developed the reputation of the house internationally.
Notably, Jean-Rémy Moët notably created the iconic cuvée of the house, the Moet and Chandon Imperial, in honor of the Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, who visited the estate on several occasions and who allegedly invented the tradition of bashing open a bottle of Moët Chandon champagne to celebrate a victory with his troops.
Owned by the LVMH group since 1987, the Moet and Chandon Champagne House produces, from a very rigorous selection of Champagne terroirs, unique cuvées recognized across borders for their quality and for their seductive personality. Since 1996, the Champagne House has also produced a Moet Rose Champagne, the Moet Rosé.
The wine
The Moët Chandon Impérial Brut is made from a selection of over 200 different parcels, representing the finest terroirs of Champagne. Its dosage is 9 g / liter.
The blend
The Moet Imperial is made from a blend of Pinot Noir (30 to 40%), Pinot Meunier (30 to 40%) and Chardonnay (20 to 30%). This blend is completed with 20 to 30% reserve wines in order to refine the intensity, richness and consistency of this exceptional champagne.
The tasting
Color
The Moet & Chandon Brut Imperial champagne sports a beautiful golden yellow color, with beautiful green reflections.
Nose
On the nose, this champagne combines aromas of white fruit (apple, pear, white peach) and citrus (lemon) with subtle floral (lime blossoms) and pastry (brioche and fresh nuts).
Palate
A tasty and delicate palate harmoniously combines generosity and subtlety, amplitude and freshness. This is a perfectly balanced champagne.

The nose is precise, pure and refined. It develops into a bouquet filled with notes of white peach and exotic fruits, followed by floral and botanical scents and a spicier, sweeter finish. The graceful palate is both straightforward and complex, with a sleek, pure flavour that leads into a long, languorously intricate finish, expressed by bracing, refreshing notes of rhubarb and grapefruit, and a touch of mint.
