Description
Veuve Clicquot Rose Champagne, 3 x 1.5L
In 1818, Veuve Clicquot made history by offering the first-ever rosé champagne. This legacy lives on today with Veuve Clicquot Rosé, a delightfully luscious, fruit-based champagne. Naturally engaging, this cuvée is the pink expression of the Veuve Clicquot style.
This Rosé Brut is the first ever known blended Rosé Champagne, and thanks to the work of Madame Clicquot in 1818, we can enjoy today its liveliness and burst of fruit that has the telltale signature of Veuve Clicquot’s quality and style that it maintains every year thanks to the collection of reserve wines that contains it.
It is made from selected red wines of the upmost quality and sourced from the best vineyards in Champagne, and the blend is based on the Yellow label’s traditional blend: 30 to 45% reserve wines aged up to 20 years blended with grapes from as many as 50-60 different Crus.
Its ripe red fruits and spice flavours, shaped by the predominance of Pinot Noir in the blend, are a true signature that reveals the strength of the wine; the Chardonnay (28-33%) adds elegance and finesse, and the small touch of Pinot Meunier (15-20%) rounds out the blend. The blend is completed with 12% still red wine using red grapes, and it will spend a long period of aging in the cellars called “Crayères” minimum of 3 years, which will give it that silkiness.
The result is excellent freshness and fruit flavor. A fragrant nose with an explosion of red fruits. Full bodied with intense flavours, juicy ripe strawberries, and cherries. A very elegant and complete Champagne with class and style.
Veuve-Clicquot is the giant of the champagne industry and getting bigger. Actually, they are a part of the LVMH Group, which is a global leader in luxury and success. Veuve Clicquot owns one of the largest vineyards in Champagne. This beautiful estate was the achievement of the widow Clicquot and demonstrates her great talent and instinct for entrepreneurship, as the vineyards can be found evenly spread across the best and classic wine-growing districts, comprising large numbers of grands crus on the Cote des Blancs and also some on the Montagne de Reims.
Note: Ideal to be enjoyed throughout the whole meal, from the aperitif to the dessert. Enjoy it now, or it can be enjoyed after many years when stored with care.
